BSB: Sharks blow out Gators twice; Horn perfect in Game 1

May River baseball rolled to a pair of 15-0 wins over visiting Lake Marion on Friday to open Region 8-3A play.

Darrin Horn struck out 11 in a four-inning perfect game in the opener, allowing only one of the 12 batters he faced to put the ball in play.

John Pesaturo was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs to lead the Sharks at the plate, while Walker Taylor and Wilson Mullis each went 2-for-2 and scored twice, and Mullis added a pair of RBIs. Caleb Allinder was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run, and Bennett Roemer was 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. 

Riley Stokes nearly matched Horn’s perfecto in the second game, striking out nine and allowing one hit in a three-inning complete game. 

Horn was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs, and two runs in Game 2, while Blaine Clavel added a pair of RBIs.

May River (3-3, 2-0) is scheduled to host Battery Creek at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
