Visiting Ashley Ridge handed Hilton Head High its first loss of the season Monday, using a six-run seventh inning to break it open before winning 8-1.
Starter JJ Richardson gave the Seahawks six solid innings, and HHIHS was within 2-1 going to the seventh before the Swamp Foxes chased him in the seventh. Richardson allowed four runs (three earned) and four hits while striking out six and walking three over 6 2/3 innings.
Tate Miller had three of the Seahawks’ six hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in the team’s lone run.
