BSB: HHP downs Creek in matchup of Dolphins

Connor McDonnell and Cooper Kunich combined on a one-hitter and Luke Foley had three hits and four RBIs to lead Hilton Head Prep to a 12-0 win at Battery Creek on Monday.

McDonnell struck out five and walked three over five one-hit innings, and Kunich worked around a walk in a scoreless sixth. 

Foley was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, leadoff man Tommy Stauffer was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs, and Kunich added two hits and an RBI to lead HHP at the plate. Steele Burd also knocked in two runs. 

Luke Sanders took the loss, and Jonathon Gordon had the lone hit for Battery Creek. 

“We played solid in all phases of the game tonight,” HHP coach Chris Wells said. “I’m very pleased any time we are aggressive at the plate and support that with error-free defense.”

UP NEXT

HHP (4-2) hosts Habersham School at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Battery Creek (1-3) travels to Beaufort High at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
