Hilton Head High girls lacrosse notched its first regular-season victory Tuesday, winning 9-8 at Academic Magnet to give coach Kara Cooke her first coaching win as a Seahawk.
Tied 4-4 at the half, the Seahawks fell behind 8-6 early in the second half and needed a big comeback to secure the win.
Anna Ferrebee secured two vital draw controls late in the game, and the Seahawks were able to pull even at 8-8 going into the final two minutes.
A goal from Victoria Glover secured the lead, and the Seahawks kept offensive possession on the Raptor end of the field to end the game with a victory.
Glover scored five goals for the Seahawks, while Sharon Urbina added three goals, and Sarah Kate Shupp had one.
Ferrebee secured three draw controls, and Aja Caron and Caroline Stone each secured two turnovers for the Seahawk defense.
Brooke Simons notched four saves for the Seahawks, while Megan Rickenbach added two.
