Hilton Head High baseball wrapped up a dominant run through its own preseason tournament with a pair of lopsided wins Friday.
The Seahawks beat Thomas Heyward 20-1 in three innings and topped Battery Creek 12-2 in the championship game later that night.
Dean Seelbach and Ethan Hussong combined on a three-inning no-hitter to lead the Seahawks past the Rebels, as Seelbach struck out four and walked two over two innings, allowing an unearned run, and Hussong struck out one in a perfect frame.
The Seahawks plated 11 runs in the first and banged out 14 hits. Matt Mebane was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs, and six RBIs and Jeff Hays was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, four runs, and four RBIs to lead Hilton Head High’s offensive outburst. Colin Gross was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, Daniel Keber was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three runs, and two RBIs.
Mebane was 2-for-2 with a triple, two walks, two runs, and two RBIs to lead the Seahawks against Battery Creek, while Colin Gross and Jackson Philpot each went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Cole DeMarzo had a double, two walks, two runs, and three RBIs.
Mac Watson held the Dolphins two two runs over three innings to earn the win, and Julian Mlodzinski struck out four and walked one over two hitless frames to close it out.
Lance Thompson was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Austin Stephens and Cody Lanning each added a hit for the Dolphins. Jonothon Gordon took the loss on the mound.
