BSOC: Late red card sinks HHCA vs. Hornets

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys dropped a tough 2-0 decision to visiting Savannah Country Day in their season opener Tuesday.

The Hornets scored both of their goals in the final three minutes after HHCA went a man down when Kent Camp was shown a red card for a tactical foul.

The Eagles had their share of chances, including several breakaway opportunities, but were unable to convert.

The man advantage was enough for Savannah Country Day to break through an otherwise stout HHCA defense anchored by center back Rashad Gadson and keeper Riley Shinn, who made seven saves in his debut in goal.
