Hilton Head High started off its own preseason tournament with a 15-0 win over Thomas Heyward on Saturday.
JJ Richardson tossed a three-hit shutout for the Seahawks, striking out six and walking one over four innings.
Colin Gross was 2-for-2 with four RBIs, and Matt Mebane was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs to lead the offensive outburst for HHIHS. Jeff Hayes added a double and a triple and scored twice, and Daniel Keber and Ethan Hussong each knocked in two runs.
Peyton Bennett, John Hewlett, and Nicholas Wise each had a hit for the Rebels.
