HSGBB: Early blitz sinks Bobcats’ title hopes

Visiting North Myrtle Beach blitzed Bluffton’s girls in the first quarter and locked down the Bobcats’ All-State star en route to a 49-33 win in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs Thursday.

The Chiefs raced out to a 23-7 lead after one quarter, and the Bobcats never recovered despite tightening up on defense the rest of the night.

Tacoya Heyward scored 12 points and Samari Mitchell added 10 to lead the Bobcats. North Myrtle Beach was able to limit All-State selection Tatyana Aiken to four points.

The Bobcats finished the season with a 21-4 record.
