HSBBB: No problem for HHP in first round of title defense

Hilton Head Prep’s boys breezed into the second round of the SCISA 2A state tournament with a 60-29 win over Shannon Forest on Friday in Sumter.

The defending state champion Dolphins raced out to an 18-4 lead after one quarter and cruised to the easy win, allowing their stars to conserve energy.

Freshman Kane Eanes led the way for Hilton Head Prep with 14 points off the bench, while Tyrone Calloway scored 13 in limited minutes and Luke Foley anchored the Dolphins on defense and on the boards.

HHP (21-6) will face Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Sumter Civic Center.
