HSBB: SCISA state tourney brackets set

The SCISA basketball state tournament brackets are set, and eight Lowco area teams are set to embark on their quests for a state title.

Several of the local squads have a reasonable chance of playing for — or even winning — a state title, including the defending SCISA 2A champion Hilton Head Christian Academy girls and Hilton Head Prep boys.

The Eagles (26-2) open their title defense against Dillon Christian on Saturday, while the Dolphins are the top seed in their quadrant of the bracket and will open against Shannon Forest on Friday.

Beaufort Academy’s girls also captured a No. 1 seed in the SCISA 1A bracket. The Eagles (17-3) will open against Anderson Christian on Saturday.

John Paul II, HHCA, and BA also open the boys playoffs Friday, while JPII and HHP open the girls tournament Saturday.
