Beaufort Academy’s boys stunned SCISA Region 4 champion Bethesda Academy on Tuesday, winning 48-47 to hand the Blazers their only loss in region play.
The Eagles were down 29-20 at halftime and didn’t take their first lead until late in the fourth quarter.
Elijah Fess led BA with 18 points, while Dawson Coleman added 13, and Malacai Rodriguez had eight for the Eagles.

Fess hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 45 in the final minute, then Rodriguez grabbed an offensive rebound and put-back to put BA ahead. Coleman hit the front end of a one-and-one with 14 seconds left to make it a three-point game, and the Blazers settled for a two-point bucket before BA ran out the clock.
BA (14-10, 6-6) opens the SCISA 1A playoffs against Holly Hill Academy at 8 p.m. Friday at Pinewood Prep.
