Hilton Head Christian Academy’s big three were too much for Hilton Head Prep’s girls on Friday night, as Jasmine Campbell, Dior Shelton, and Brielle McCarthy overwhelmed the home team on both ends of the court to pick up a 62-32 win.
It started off as a real battle. Ella Clark and Haylee Hopman sparked the Dolphins early with a few impressive shots, but it didn’t last for long. The Eagles quickly snatched control of the game with a 17-0 run, and all of a sudden by halftime they possessed a commanding 40-18 lead.

“We were just trying to get into the groove early,” Campbell said. “After we settled down we got through our bad mistakes and got back to playing how we should.”
The script was nearly identical to last week’s victory over John Paul II, as HHCA terminated any chance of a comeback with outstanding defense in the third quarter. The Dolphins were held to a mere four points in the frame, while the Eagles added 16, putting the contest away.
The big three accounted for 43 of the 62 HHCA points. Campbell put up 19, Shelton wasn’t far behind with 16, and McCarthy added eight.
Ella Clark led the way for the Dolphins with 13 points.
