May River wrestling maintained its dominance over the Lowco and Beaufort High claimed Region 7-4A superiority in a quad match Wednesday at Beaufort.
The Sharks defeated the host Eagles for the second time this season, winning 52-21, but Beaufort took down Hilton Head High 46-33 in a pivotal region match.
All three local teams easily defeated Hanahan.
May River thrived on seven pins against the Eagles, including a run of six straight interrupted by a forfeit, which turned a 12-6 Beaufort lead into a 48-12 Sharks rout. The Sharks recorded pins in seven of the nine contested matches in a 78-0 blanking of Hanahan. Kailin “Big Man” Prescott-Ferguson (285) and Isham Peace (113) each had two pins for the Sharks, Eli Hall (220) won both of his bouts by forfeit, and Wyatt Banfield (160), Rod Grant (195), EJ Seman (106), Chad Hadden (120), Anthony Nelsen (152), Anthon Funderburk (170), Donovan Ling (182), CJ Ciccarelli (126), and Peyton Gilbert (132) each had one pin.
Beaufort won a tough match against the Seahawks and defeated Hanahan 60-19.
