HSGBB: All involved as Seahawks win again in Tampa

Hilton Head High’s girls picked up a second consecutive win Monday to claim a fifth-place finish at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational.

The Seahawks routed host SLAM Tampa 70-30 in their tournament finale to finish 2-1 in the event.

All 13 players scored for the Seahawks, led by Miley Ray’s 15 points. Anna Genova added 13 points, and Emma Moore had 10 for HHIHS.

“We came into this season with a very inexperienced group and so a trip like this is huge for building chemistry and confidence,” Seahawks coach Sean Rochester said. “You get away from home and spend five days with your teammates and coaches in the hotel, running around Busch Gardens, and all those fun things. I really think today is a product of that with everyone scoring, and our kids genuinely enjoying someone else’s success that might not play as much as certain players.”
