Ridgeland-Hardeeville’s boys had to settle for runner-up honors after an impressive run at the Orangeburg County Sweet 16 Tournament, as the Jaguars lost 55-27 to undefeated Bishop England in Monday’s championship game.
Kassim Scott scored six points, Rashard Baker and Shaleaf Cherry each added five points, and JaQuan Kemp dished out four assists for the Jaguars, but RHHS couldn’t do much on offense against the Bishops, who are ranked fourth in Class 3A.

Baker (11.3 points, 2.0 rebounds) and teammate Brandon Howard (7.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.7 steals) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Mauriq Singleton (9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds) and Dennis Holmes (9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals) also had big weeks for the Jags.
