Battery Creek used a big third quarter at the defensive end to escape with a 37-36 road win at Hilton Head High on Wednesday, giving first-year head coach Anntionette Elam her first win.
Coresha Rutledge scored 11 points, Starr Reed and Kiara Wilson added eight apiece, and Halle DeJesus contributed seven for the Dolphins, who held the Seahawks to two points in the third quarter.

HHIHS led 25-18 at halftime but could not execute on the offensive end, scoring only 11 second-half points. Mackenzie Ryan led the Seahawks with 14 points, followed by Janiya Ferebee’s career-high 12.
“Through four games our rebounding percentages were excellent, tonight they were not good enough to win,” HHIHS coach Sean Rochester said. “It’s something that we work on every practice, and it will have to get better quick if we expect to compete.”
