Hilton Head High’s boys came up short of a victory in their season-opening game at Wade Hampton on Tuesday.
The Seahawks were victorious in both matchups against Wade Hampton last season but couldn’t get past the Red Devil defense, losing 77-53. Hilton Head was within seven points at halftime before Wade Hampton’s defensive pressure was too much to handle in the second half.
Gaston Moore led the team in scoring with 23 points, followed by Sam Summa with 16 points.
The Seahawks (0-1) will look to even their record Friday, when they take on Hilton Head Prep at 7:30 p.m. at The Nest.
