Hilton Head Christian Academy volleyball split a tri-match against a pair of strong Georgia programs Tuesday.
The Eagles swept Glynn Academy 2-0 (25-14, 25-19) before falling to host Calvary Day 2-0 (25-23, 25-21) in a hard-fought match of state championship contenders.
Lauryn Qualls collected six kills, five aces, and 11 digs for the Eagles, while Ady O’Grady added nine kills and eight digs, Dior Shelton contributed three key blocks, and Brielle McCarthy dished out 22 assists.
HHCA put up a fight against perennial power Calvary Day, getting seven kills, two aces, and eight digs from O’Grady, five kills and seven digs from Abby Peduzzi, and six kills, one ace, and 11 digs from Qualls. McCarthy passed out 20 assists, and Shelton had two blocks and two kills.
The Eagles (25-10) host Beaufort Academy in a matchup of SCISA powers on Thursday.
