Youth Softball: Bluffton Sweeps Angels District Title

Bluffton swept Colleton County in two games to win the Dixie Softball Angels X-Play (9-10) district championship on Friday. 

Makenzie Stubbs was 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs, and two runs, Savannah Hollings was 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs, and Braylin Rogers was 2-for-2 with a homer, two RBIs, and three runs to lead Bluffton’s offense in a 20-11 win in the first game. Norah Morante added two hits and two RBIs, Caydon Swofford had two hits and scored twice, and Stubbs struck out seven over a five-inning complete game.

Hollings shut down Colleton in the second game, striking out six in a three-inning no-hitter as Bluffton won 12-1 to clinch the title.

Bluffton took advantage of 11 Colleton walks in the finale. Swofford drove in two runs and scored once, Hollings had a hit and scored a run, and Sophia Morton added a hit and an RBI.

Bluffton advances to the state tournament July 12-17 in Union.
