Bluffton National is the only undefeated team remaining after Sunday’s play at the Dixie Youth Baseball District 8 AA Machine Pitch (7-8) Tournament in Walterboro.
After receiving a first-round bye and being rained out Saturday, Bluffton National was the last team to begin tournament play when it claimed victories over Colleton County and Bluffton American on Sunday.
Bluffton National opened with a 10-4 victory over host Colleton, as Duncan Conn went 3-for-3 with an RBI, Colt Harper had two hits and two RBIs, Austin Broene had a double and three RBIs, and Caleb Malphrus, Eli Elam, Landon Kyle, Russell Spencer, and Aaron James Jackson each had two hits.

Bluffton American began its day with a 14-3 win over Beaufort to stay undefeated, as Nicholas Carpenter led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Guthrie, Wolfe, and Gage Colella each had two hits and two RBIs, while Fulton and Noah Sepulveda had two hits and Declan Mitchell drove in two runs. Hayes Tanner, Rawles Moore, and William Thompson each had a hit and an RBI for Beaufort.
The two Bluffton team then squared off in the nightcap, with Bluffton National earned a walk-off 10-9 win when Spencer’s double drove in Truman Jarrett from first. Jarrett was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, Spencer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Malphrus, Harper, Elam, Charlie Nelson, and Nic Farrugia each added two hits for Bluffton National. Derek Blesie was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Nathan Fulton was 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, Nathan Guthrie added two hits, and Trevor Wolfe drove in two runs for Bluffton American.
Beaufort stayed alive with a 15-8 win over Colleton, using five runs in the first and six in the second to build an insurmountable lead. Reeve Simmons was 3-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run and six RBIs, Marshall Rhoten was 3-for-3 with two inside-the-park home runs and four RBIs, and Joshua Martin was 3-for-3 with an inside-the-park homer and two RBIs to lead Beaufort. Cooper Gustwick added two hits and two RBIs, Hogan Wareham was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Tanner and Landen Davis each added two hits.
Hilton Head also stayed alive by winning two elimination games over Ridgeland and Hampton.
Bluffton National will face Hilton Head and Beaufort will face Bluffton American at 6 p.m. Monday with the championship game set for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The winner and runner-up of the double-elimination tournament will earn berths in the state tournament July 6-9 in Florence.
