HS Soccer: Eagles Denied In Three-Peat Bid

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys were denied their third consecutive SCISA 2A title Saturday, losing 2-1 in overtime to Oakbrook Prep at Porter-Gaud in Charleston.

The Knights struck first on a Buddy Ramantanin free kick in the 13th minute and maintained the 1-0 advantage at halftime.

Lukas O’Grady kept the Eagles in it with a couple of stellar saves early in the second half, and Cam Strickland broke through with the equalizer in the 68th minute, converting a cross from Carson Webster.

Both teams missed chances in the final minutes of regulation, as HHCA’s JP Peduzzi hit the post in the 76th minute, and O’Grady made another big save three minutes later.

Justin Dominique gave the Knights the lead in the first overtime, and they held on to avenge losses to HHCA in the state title game the previous two years.
