Hilton Head Prep’s girls were unable to end Oakbrook Prep’s reign Saturday, falling 4-1 in the SCISA 2A state championship at Porter-Gaud in Charleston.
“These girls battled today against a very strong and physical team with a lot of experience in the championship game,” HHP coach Risa McMillan said. “Oakbrook owns their fourth state title in four years and that is a huge advantage in all aspects of the game for them. It is a different pace, different everything at this level. Now we know what to expect and will be ready to face off again next year.”
Ansleigh Crenshaw scored the Dolphins’ lone goal on a header off of a cross from Ella Clark, who broke the school record with her 24th assist of the season.
