HS Baseball: Bobcats Edge Marlboro County To Stay Alive

Bluffton kept its season alive with a 3-2 home win over Marlboro County in the Class 4A District 5 tournament Thursday.

The Bobcats pushed across three runs in the first inning, and Noah Simonsen made the lead stand up, limiting Marlboro County to two runs and three hits in a complete game. Simonsen struck out six and walked two, and he added a double and scored a run at the plate. 

Dillan Montenegro was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run, and Anthony Storzieri doubled and scored in the first inning for the Bobcats.

Bluffton (9-12) will travel to Lakewood for an elimination game Saturday. The Gators blanked the Bobcats 2-0 in Tuesday’s first round.
