Bluffton’s girls avenged an earlier loss to Hilton Head High with a 4-0 home win over the Seahawks on Monday.
Adeline Rios scored two goals, and Kayleigh Washington and Jessica Jimenez each added a goal for Bluffton. Stephanie Maldonado made 18 saves in an outstanding effort to preserve the shutout and the Bobcats’ region title hopes.
The Bobcats (9-9-1, 4-1) can earn the region crown with a win over visiting Beaufort High at 7 p.m. Wednesday. It was the regular-season finale for the Seahawks (8-8-2, 5-1), who will await the results of the Bluffton-Beaufort match to determine their playoff seed.
