Hilton Head High grabbed an early lead and JR Richardson made it hold up in a 4-0 win over visiting Bluffton in Region 7-4A play Wednesday.
The Seahawks put together a two-out rally to plate three runs in the first inning, and that was plenty of support for Richardson, who struck out eight, walked two, and allowed five hits over seven scoreless innings.
Stratton Pollitzer was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and JJ Mlodzinski added an RBI single for the Seahawks.
Joey Black was 2-for-4, and Anthony Storzieri was 1-for-3 with a walk for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats (8-9, 3-5) host the Seahawks (13-6, 4-4) for the series finale at 7 p.m. Friday with the winner claiming the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A playoffs.
