HS Golf: Herman, Dolphins Take Top Region Honors

It took some number crunching to determine that Hilton Head Prep edged out Hilton Head Christian Academy to claim the SCISA Region 1-2A golf title.

The Dolphins and Eagles split the region matches, meaning the title was determined by the teams’ scoring averages — and HHP won the tiebreaker by less than one stroke. The Dolphins averaged 145.75 compared to the Eagles’ 146.6.

HHP’s JT Herman was named region Player of the Year and joined on the all-region team by teammates Mackenzie Gallagher and Sophia Burnett and Hilton Head Christian Academy’s JD Patterson and Daniel Azallion. Herman had a nine-hole scoring average of 33.7 in region matches, earning Player of the Year honors for the second straight year.
