Bluffton picked up its first Region 7-4A win with an 11-7 victory over visiting Colleton County on Wednesday.
Joey Black went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs, Noah Simonsen was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, and Dillan Montenegro drove in two runs to pace the Bobcats.
Simonsen earned the win, allowing one unearned run and five hits over four innings with three strikeouts and one walk.
The Bobcats led 9-1 through five innings before the Cougars erupted for six runs in the sixth. Tyler Livingston got Bluffton out of the jam in the sixth and pitched a perfect seventh to earn the save.
The Bobcats (6-8, 1-4) travel to Colleton County for the rubber match of the three-game series at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
