Hilton Head High boys lacrosse defeated a strong AC Flora team 15-11 at home on Saturday.
Max Boyer and Whit Molloy led the scoring for the Seahawks with six goals apiece. Will Frith, Kyle Kirkpatrick, and Reed Parker also contributed a goal, and Frith, Maldonado, Parker, and Kirkpatrick tallied assists.
Josh Hiers held down the goal, recording 14 saves. Strong defensive performances by Luke Fromdahl, Cole Benson, and Nick Magnin also contributed to the Seahawks’ victory.
Frith and Owen Allain combined to win 28-of-31 draw attempts.
“This was a great team win,” HHIHS coach Will Callegari said. “We put our plan into action and the boys executed it for four quarters. AC Flora is a great team, and there is no way we could have beaten them playing as individuals. We were able to control them tempo and play to our strengths, and as such we came away with the win.”
The Seahawks are back in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday at home, as they hope to clinch the Region 7-4A championship with a win against Beaufort High.
