Jaiden Hrobar and Trevor Weldon combined on a no-hitter as Hilton Head Prep beat visiting Battery Creek 14-4 in five innings Monday.
Hrobar allowed three runs (two earned) with three strikeouts and six walks in 2 1/3 innings, and Weldon gave up one run in 2 2/3 innings of relief, striking out two and walking three, to earn the win.
“Hats off to Trevor for taking the bump in relief and filling up the strike zone for us, which was exactly what we needed,” HHP coach Chris Wells said.
Hrobar also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, two runs, and three RBIs. Tommy Stauffer was 2-for-5 with two runs, three RBIs, and three stolen bases, and Will Gray was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs for HHP.
HHP (10-2, 5-1) faces Pigeon Forge (Tenn.) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton Head High’s tournament.
