Beaufort High couldn’t generate much offense in a 5-1 loss at Wade Hampton in a non-region game Monday.
Wade Hampton’s Evan McCutchen held the Eagles in check, allowing only three hits and striking out four in a complete game.
Jeffrey Smyth had an RBI double, Ethan Graham doubled and scored, and Brendan Bowersox added a hit for the Eagles.
Casyn Dobson was 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, and two RBIs for the Red Devils.
Beaufort (14-2) faces Point Pleasant at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Hilton Head High’s tournament.
