Reagan Kelly’s three-run triple broke a tie in the sixth inning and propelled Bluffton to a 9-8 home win over Beaufort High in Region 7-4A play Wednesday.
Kelly’s bases-loaded triple sparked a four-run sixth inning, and the Bobcats held on when Beaufort stranded the tying run at third after scoring three runs in the seventh.
Peyton Ray struck out seven and allowed eight runs (seven earned) to earn the win.
Lillian Bearden drove in four runs, and Essence Champion was 2-for-3 with two runs for the Eagles.
The Eagles (2-7, 1-1) host the Bobcats (3-4, 1-1) for the series finale Friday, but Bluffton also travels to Wade Hampton for a non-region game Thursday.
