May River blanked rival Bluffton 9-0 on Monday behind a dominant pitching performance from Josh Patterson and a balanced offense.
Patterson struck out nine over five scoreless innings and Elijah Peter finished off the shutout for the Sharks.
Cooper George was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, Patterson was 2-for-4 with a double and a run, Josh Reddy was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice, and John Pesaturo was 2-for-3 with two runs for May River.
Anthony Storzieri, Joe DiCarlo, and Joey Black each had a hit for the Bobcats.
The Sharks (5-3) travel to Battery Creek for a Region 8-3A game Tuesday. The Bobcats (5-3) host May River for a rematch at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
