Hilton Head High boys lacrosse opened the season in impressive fashion, beating Savannah Christian 17-4 on Saturday.
The Seahawks were able to control possession thanks to midfielder Will Frith going 15-for-15 on faceoffs. Max Boyer (4 goals, 3 assists), Whit Molloy (5G), and Matt Maldonado (4G, 3A) led a dynamic attack.
Defensemen Garrison Geoffroy, Nick Magnin, and Cole Benson combined to shut down the Raiders, and goalie Josh Hiers made six saves.
“Today was a good team win for us,” Seahawks coach Will Callegari said. “We did a lot of things well offensively, and I believe our off-ball movement is definitely improving. Defensively, all of our guys stepped up. Both goalies really did a great job in the cage today. We absolutely have some areas we need to improve in, but that will come along as the season progresses. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with how we started the year.”
The Seahawks host Bluffton for their home opener Wednesday.
