May River’s Ryan Humel and Hilton Head High’s James Levy won individual titles at the Coastal Clash wrestling tournament held Friday and Saturday at Hilton Head High.
Humel went 4-0 with two pins to win the 182-pound weight class and help the Sharks finish ninth among 18 teams. He was one of eight May River wrestlers who finished in the top eight in their weight classes. Roderick Grant finished third at 220, Kailin Prescott-Ferguson was fourth at 285, Eric Seman (106) and Terry Fields (195) finished fifth, Anthony Nelson (145) was seventh, and Travis Tran (113) and Mike Sunkins (120) were eighth.
Levy went 4-0 with three pins to claim the 106-pound title for the Seahawks, who finished 15th. Alfred Young (285) placed eighth.
Bluffton’s Xavier Dykstra placed eighth at 220.
