HSBB: WB Boys To Play For Bobcat Classic Title

Whale Branch’s boys will play for the Bobcat Classic championship after a 76-73 win over South Point (N.C.) on Friday. Host Bluffton won its second-round game, while Beaufort High suffered a one-point loss.

Shawn Chisolm scored 21 points, JaQuan Watson added 17, RaeQuan Brisbane had 12, and Nick Pringle contributed 10 to lead the Warriors, who will face Boiling Springs in the championship game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The host Bobcats held off Lowcountry Leadership 65-54 in the second round and will face Woodland in the fifth-place game at 1:30 p.m.

Beaufort High dropped a heartbreaker, 62-61 to Woodland, despite 19 points from Oliver Holmes, 11 from Trae Heyward, and 10 from Jamaad Rivers. The Eagles will face Lowcountry Leadership at noon Saturday.

Seventh-place: Lowcountry Leadership vs. Beaufort High, Noon

Fifth-place: Bluffton vs. Woodland, 1:30 p.m.

Third-place: South Point (N.C.) vs. Marvin Ridge (N.C.), 3 p.m.

Championship: Whale Branch vs. Boiling Springs, 4:30 p.m.
