This week’s RBC Heritage High School Basketball Player of the Week voting was a slam dunk.
On the girls side, it was a runaway win for John Paul II’s Tkai DeVore. DeVore not only earned the fan vote by the narrowest of margins with 43.6 percent of the vote, just edging Bluffton’s Tatyana Aiken (42.7), but she also swept the four votes from our panel. That’s what happens when you average 18 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.6 steals, and 3.2 assists and post a triple-double.
The boys voting was nearly as one-sided, as Whale Branch’s Nick Pringle (56.6 percent) ran away with the fan vote and snagged three of our four panelists’ votes with the other going to Beaufort’s Jamaad Rivers. Pringle had a monster week with two double-doubles in two games — both wins — and averages of 13.5 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 blocks.
Congrats to Tkai DeVore and Nick Pringle, the RBC Heritage Players of the Week. Thanks for voting!
