May River’s boys took control in the second quarter and held on for a 59-52 road win over Hilton Head High on Friday.
Josh Patterson scored 17 points, Deshawn Martin added 13, and Harry Cash had 12 to lead the Sharks, who outscored the Seahawks 13-8 in the second quarter to take a 27-24 halftime lead. Cooper George scored nine points, and Jack Hegan added eight for May River.

Gaston Moore scored 18 points and Davis Molloy added 16 to lead the Seahawks.
May River (2-0) hosts rival Bluffton next Friday. Hilton Head (1-1) travels to South Effingham (Ga.) on Saturday.
