John Paul II’s girls breezed into the championship game of their own tournament Wednesday with a 54-35 win over First Presbyterian Christian.
Tkai DeVore led a balanced effort with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Golden Warriors. Jasmine Hamilton also scored 13, Abby Quinty added 12, and Mary Foster Gaillard chipped in 10.
“Everyone hustled and worked together to get the job done,” JPII coach Karen Floyd said. “We had 4 players in double digits, and Katie Leigh Floyd played a huge role in keeping the momentum going and distributing the ball against their press.”
The Golden Warriors (2-0) host Beaufort Academy in the championship game at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
