Beaufort High girls basketball went 2-1 at the inaugural Teresa Kendle Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend at Summerville High School.
The Eagles opened with a 37-30 loss to the host Green Wave on Friday but bounced back for a 53-27 win over rival Battery Creek on Saturday. Lillian Sumner scored nine points and Layla Warren added seven to lead Beaufort against Summerville. Darien Watkins poured in 20 points, Sequoia Smalls added 12, and Warren had 11 in the win over the Dolphins.
Beaufort closed out the tournament Sunday with a 52-40 win over Burke, as Watkins and Smalls each scored 14 points and Warren added 10.
The Eagles (2-1) open the regular season at home against May River on Tuesday.
