Battery Creek’s volleyball team advanced to the Class 3A Lower State championship match with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) win over Academic Magnet on Wednesday.
Dazanni Hinton (17 kills, four blocks) and Laiani McCullough (eight kills, three blocks) led the Dolphins’ attack in a dominant all-around performance against the Raptors. Setters McKenzie Young (16 assists, six kills, five aces) and Dani Ramirez (12 assists, one block) directed the offense, and Emily Crosby anchored the defense with nine digs.
The Dolphins will host state power Bishop England in the Lower State final at 6 p.m. Monday. It’s a rematch of last year’s Lower State semifinal, which the Bishops won 3-0.
