HSVB: HHCA Sweeps Into State Championship Matchup

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s volleyball team plowed through the Lower Bracket at the SCISA Class 2A State Tournament on Friday and Saturday, but the Eagles know their next match will be a much bigger test.

The Eagles swept five matches without losing a set over the weekend at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center, setting up a state championship clash with two-time defending state champion Spartanburg Christian on Tuesday. Neither team has lost to a SCISA school this season, and the Eagles haven’t lost since Sept. 25, while the Warriors’ last defeat was Sept. 21.

HHCA (36-6-1) breezed through its bracket, defeating Carolina Academy, Pee Dee Academy, Shannon Forest, Palmetto Christian, and The King’s Academy in straight sets.

Spartanburg Christian (31-6) was nearly as dominant in the Upper Bracket, defeating Marlboro Academy, Northside Christian, The King’s Academy, Colleton Prep, and Shannon Forest while dropping only one set.
