Several area teams competed in the Colleton County volleyball tournament on Saturday, and a couple of them brought home hardware.
Hilton Head Christian Academy led the way, going undefeated in pool play before beating Beaufort High and perennial powerhouse Bishop England to win the gold bracket championship in the 25-team event. HHCA defeated Beaufort High 2-1 (26-24, 17-25, 18-16) in a thriller in the semifinals and beat the Bishops 2-0 (25-19, 25-20) in the championship game.
Beaufort finished fourth in the gold bracket, winning eight of 11 sets overall.
Beaufort Academy won six of eight sets in pool play and beat Wade Hampton in their first game in the silver bracket before falling to Colleton Prep in the semifinals.
Hilton Head Prep wound up in the copper bracket after pool play and won the bracket, while John Paul II was eliminated in the first round of the copper bracket.
