John Paul II’s boys fell short of the SCISA 1A championship game Wednesday, as their season ended with a 5-2 loss at The King’s Academy.
The Golden Warriors (9-9-1) trailed 2-0 at halftime and never got back within a goal despite two second-half goals from Sebastian Laverde.
“It was a tough way to end what has, for me, been an extremely rewarding and fulfilling season,” JPII coach Matt Dakolios said. “To see the raw emotions of the boys after the game speaks to the investment and commitment they have in each other. Winning is fun, and losing is painful, but ultimately the trials they have faced as a unified and driven group will help in their development as great young men of integrity, leadership, and excellence.”
