HS Soccer: Langehans Leads Second-Half Comeback As Lions Stun BA

Holy Trinity’s girls charged back from a two-goal deficit to claim a 3-2 win over Beaufort Academy in the SCISA Class 1A semifinals Tuesday.

The Lions will face Cambridge Academy, a 3-0 winner over John Paul II in the other semifinal, for the state title at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Cardinal Newman in Columbia.

  1. You might want to double check on your reporting, there was no own goal. They also did not storm back…they won with a pentalty kick, from a late call by a ref? Did you actually have a reporter there?
    Thank you

    1. Ms. Raschella, I am a one-person operation, so I did not have a reporter there. I rely on coaches to report results in most cases. BA’s coach reported that BA’s first goal was an own-goal. As far as storming back, I’ll stand by that euphemism for coming back from a two-goal deficit in the second half. Thanks for reading.

  2. After conversing with my daughter, she said it was a self goal, I apologise for my mistake. However, the poor officiating should never superceed the play of the game which in this instance happened. Thankfully he will not be officiating tonight’s BA game.
Thank you again for the reply and for covering sports here in the LowCountry!
