Hilton Head Christian Academy dropped the opener of its SCISA Class 2A semifinal series Monday, falling 7-5 at Pee Dee Academy.
The Eagles managed only two hits and were hurt by four errors. They tied it at 4-4 with three runs in the fourth inning before allowing an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth and two unearned tallies in the bottom of the fifth.
Connor Handy and Michael Graupner each had a hit and an RBI for HHCA. John Burke took the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs (four earned) over six innings.
The best-of-3 series shifts to HHCA for game 2 at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
