HS Baseball: Eagles’ Season Ends With Loss To Lugoff-Elgin

Beaufort High forced a second game in the Class 4A district championship but was unable to overcome two big innings in a season-ending 10-4 loss to Lugoff-Elgin on Monday.

Ethan Graham struck out five and allowed one earned run in a 4-3 win in the first game, forcing the deciding contest. Wade Olivarri and Jeffrey Smyth each went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs in the win.

The Demons broke open the rubber game with five runs in the second and put it away with five in the sixth to claim the district title.

Olivarri was 2-for-4 with a homer and an RBI single, and Graham and Paul Winland each added two hits and an RBI for the Eagles. Cooper Woods and Smyth added two hits apiece.

The Eagles finish with a 21-10 record.
