Whale Branch opened the Class 2A playoffs with a 17-2 loss at Johnsonville on Wednesday.
Irvin Mulligan went 2-for-2 and Jamel Moultrie was 1-for-1 and scored a run for the Warriors.
Clarence Stephens took the loss on the mound.
The Warriors will have a bye in the next round and face the loser of Thursday’s Johnsonville vs. Bamberg-Ehrhardt matchup in an elimination game Saturday.
