Hilton Head Christian Academy needed a five-run eighth inning to hold off rival Hilton Head Prep for an 8-5 victory Tuesday.
HHCA’s J.P. Peduzzi tied the game with a two-run double in the sixth, and John Blackshire’s two-run triple broke the tie and sparked the five-run eighth for the Eagles.
Danny Ledee and Luke Foley each had two RBIs for the Dolphins.
J.D. Monts earned the win with 2 2/3 innings of relief, allowing two runs and one hit with three strikeouts, and Michael Graupner recorded the final out to record the save.
HHCA (16-2, 8-1) wraps up the regular season with a home game against Colleton Prep at 6 p.m. Wednesday. HHP (0-11, 0-9) hosts Northwood Academy at 5 p.m. Thursday.
