USCB’s women repeated as champions and the Sand Shark men finished second at the Sun Conference Track & Field Championships on Sunday.
The Sand Shark women edged Webber International 220.5 to 206.5 to win their second straight conference title behind conference Runner of the Year Betsy Douglas, who won the 1,500 and 800 and was part of the winning 4×400 relay team.
Lauren Tregoning won three events – the 400 hurdles, pole vault, and high jump – and Iyana McKeever won the triple jump and long jump. Other individual champions for USCB’s women were Maiya Cooper (100), J’hari Williams (200), and Hunter Dye (javelin), and the Sand Sharks set the conference meet record in the 4×100 relay.
USCB’s men came up just short of their second straight title, finishing 20 points behind champion Keiser. Dementrius Davis (110 hurdles), Darryl Dunham (400), Malik Paul (hammer), and Jonathan Graham (pole vault) won individual titles, and the Sand Sharks won the 4×400 relay.
