For the second consecutive match, Hilton Head High’s No. 2 doubles team won a three-set match to lift the Seahawks to a victory.
Alex Ittenbach and Mario Magnan rallied after losing the first set Thursday, clinching the Seahawks’ 5-2 win over Beaufort High to cap a perfect run through Region 8-4A play.
Hilton Head High (14-2, 8-0) also won the top three singles courts, while the Eagles claimed victories at Nos. 4 and 5 singles.
Both teams will host first-round matches in the Class 4A playoffs beginning next Thursday. Beaufort (13-5, 6-2) hosts Hilton Head Prep in a non-region match at 4:30 p.m. Monday to close the regular season.
